You know, the funny thing about sitting down and doing a thorough translation of a script is that there are some bits which are just as awesome as you remembered, some even more awesome, and yet always some that you really wish you hadn't done. Sometimes, ignorance really is bliss.

Still, overall, Futari dake ga Waru is just as good as I remembered. <3 And Mariko's noir-ish monologues continue to make me love Masatsuka-S. Sometimes he really, really gets it right.

But I think I've had enough easy fun for the morning. Time to thrash at Scout some more. Or maybe I'll just write a very nice note to the cast and ask very politely for a script loan. *sigh*

My dad made a really nice commercial for our business! It's the "La Baguette" video in the video menu area. n_n

[14] Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade

I was rather waiting for Hankyu to post something on their website before posting about it myself, but I've heard it from three different sources now, so I guess that's confirmation enough. Mame-chan is (temporarily, we hope!) filling in for Takashou Mizuki in Arabia.

I now find myself conflicted. On the one hand, of course I wish for Saori-san to get better as soon as possible. She's integral to Hanagumi, and to some very important Hanagumi fans.

... On the other hand, Mame-chan as Mamluk bodyguard? Quite possibly in a cute little mustache? A small and selfish part of me rather wants to see this, which means it needs to be on the DVD.....

Whut? I'm not awake enough without my coffee, and the Hankyu web site is defying me today. Tokyo rehearsals started "today" (13th) in Japan, so I half-expected to wake up to news about the new top musumeyaku, but instead we're told that Ryuuki Kazuto is retiring. That's unexpected. She was the new "young hope" for Tsuki.

Hm. I suppose this is good news for Shimon and Uzuki Hayate.

I really enjoyed this one. I thought the plot, while predictable, was fun. I liked the characters and their costumes. The crack was amusing; the songs not horrific. There were a lot of lines that had me snickering aloud. I'd recommend it to just about any Takarazuka fan, but of course most particularly to Un-chan and Mattsu fans. Also, to fans of Suzukake Miyuki doing naughty things to Un-chan. <3

...the Japanese fans are already calling hoshigumi's upcoming Grand Theater show "ScaaPimu."

Firstly (and most importantly), Yuzurun did get the Pimpernel lead! I was so worried after the shinko roles they gave her for El Halcon. But her fan base is pretty big, actually, I think, and definitely vocal. And she seems one of those super-sweet off-stage seito. So I have a lot of hope for her yet.♥♥♥ (I like that Hoshigumi has been kind to my two young favorites there lately.)

Then, there's been another TIP release: Epiphany. Come make the pain and agony I put everyone through worth it. ;)

Yesterday I went to see the opening night (well, afternoon/evening) of Love and Death Arabia/Red Hot Sea. Gah! My last show before I leave Japan *cry*

Well, would you look at that very last little photo?

Let the 'Ozzy, Ozzy, Ozzy, Oi, Oi, Oi' jokes begin, and never grow old.

I just feel the need to brag that a lot of my guesses were right.  (Granted I didn't give very specific guesses for some of them, but hey, don't burst my bubble ^^;)

I'm really excited for this cast.  Tomomi and Haya fops!  (Although does anyone remember who the character of フォークス is?  Is he in the League?)

ETA: sumire_no_hana just pointed out the obvious: Toyoko will be playing Sir Andrew Ffoulkes!  In the books he's a fairly prominent character, a member of the League, and one of Percy's best friends.  His character was cut from the musical because in English his name sounds too much like a certain four letter word.  But since you don't have that problem in Japanese, it looks like he's back!

Also interestingly, Koto Marie will be playing the character of Suzanne.  In the books, Suzanne is a noble (I think) saved from the guillotine by Percy and company who goes on to marry Andrew.  I wonder if this plot line will be explored at all?  This makes me wonder if I'm right about my theory that the script/songs are being expanded to give Toyoko and Shii more to do.

I stupidly checked retirements at work, and burst into tears. They had to put me in a corner scrubbing old stickers off books with eucalyptus oil for the rest of the afternoon.
